Keychron's Mac Layout
Keychron is one of the few mechanical keyboards that features macOS media keys (F1 to F12) in a Mac layout with the same as conventional Mac systems.
Superior Quality, lovely to use, at half the price of a big-brand worse quality mechanical keyboard. Astounding.
I should preface this by saying that I am notoriously contemptuous of advertising hyperbole, and am happy to give bad reviews when products are bad. I have not a single bad thing to say about my Keychron K4 purchase and usage.
At home I have a Corsair Strafe RGB with MX Brown Silent switches, which is fine except for the software and some key wobble.
Been using the phlaptoplet Lenovo X1 20kk keyboard at work for months, and finally snapped one day and ordered a Keychron K4, which has a numpad which I need as I spend so much of my life inputting IP addresses. Would have bought the base model were it in stock, but wanted it quickly so had to upgrade to RGB backlit with red hot-swap switches. Arrived in the same week I ordered it.
MY goodness this keyboard is fabulous. Quieter than my MX Silent, better switch quality too, and no ridiculous software needed, and a simple key combo to disable the light effects when I'm not entertaining my five year old kid. The inbuilt keypress-triggered animated light effects are bloody marvellous for people who like pretty light shows, and surpass anything I was able to configure through the ghastly Corsair iCue software on my home keyboard.
Build quality is great, precision is unexpectedly high, and I'd buy one for home too if I were so set against unnecessary consumption of resources.
Every single person at work who's tried out my K4 has repeatedly been seen visiting Keychron's AU website, and I'm glad I got in first because it looks like everybody's considering buying one.
Being able to operate with Bluetooth or USB cable is superb, as former RF engineering experience fills me with contempt for unnecessarily wireless peripherals, so when I'm docked (or carrying the correct USB-c cable on the road) I get a magnificent cabled keyboard experience, yet don't need to sacrifice that experience when I'm in a situation that precludes cables.
This is a frankly amazing keyboard which is better in every way than the twice-as-expensive mechanical keyboard I use at home. I am seriously looking forward to the giant documenationfest coming up for me a work.
This is hands down the best keyboard I’ve ever used and I’ll be getting another one
10/10 would buy again
they are so awesome straight out of the box
love the design and the feel - makes typing for long periods easier
I've had this keyboard for couple months now and I'm still impressed at the build quality for the price I paid. Having a local supplier with reasonable delivery costs made the choice between this board or a competitor easy.
The board is solid, the keycaps feel great to type on, and the included switches (Gateron Pro Browns) were a real step up from the previous Cherry MX Browns I had experienced in previous keyboards.
Thanks to the hotswap PCB I've since installed Boba U4T switches and am really satisfied with the end result.
I'd highly recommend either this board or your preferred size from the Q series.
I do not have/use a desktop/laptop computer. Instead, I rely on my iPad Air (5th Gen.) and my iPhone 11 for all my computer needs. I do a reasonable amount of typing and document reviews. I have an older Apple Bluetooth keyboard but tend not to use it much because of the lengthy Bluetooth setup every time I need it.
I've been interested in trying a mechanical keyboard for a long time. A recent review of a Keychron keyboard piqued my interest anew. I did some R&D and found the Keychron K14 suitable for my needs. It was a smaller size and reasonably priced so I took the gamble and ordered one.
The Keychron K14 is a joy to use, the typing feel is great. I've needed to learn again all the "keyboard shortcuts" available in my favourite Markdown editor — Taio. The other aspect that
I really like is the ease with which the keyboard Bluetooth connects to my iPad; just touch in a text field to ensure the cursor is there. The electronic keyboard disappears and you are ready to type.
These days I do almost all my typing using the K14. I really like it.
Great keyboard works and looks fantastic
Keychron Q2 QMK Custom Mechanical Keyboard
Makes my work day a bit more bearable!
Keychron K7 Ultra-slim Wireless Mechanical Keyboard
For context, this is my first 'custom' keyboard but my third mechanical one. This thing is heavy and feels quality throughout. The lubing and stabilizers are perfectly done to my liking. I have the grey knob version and love the look and feel of it. Keychain hit a home run with this keyboard at this price point. It's by all means not cheap but considering what you get worth it.
I luv these! Feel so nice and definitely aids my typing experience.
The K3 Non-Backlight Wireless Keyboard is an amazing ultra portable and high quality mechanical keyboard. It's the perfect fit for both Mac and Windows and I couldn't be more happy with my purchase.
Really happy with the keyboard. The quality is outstanding, the lubed keys are a dream to use and the KB looks amazing. Truly the best KB I have ever used.
I bought the version of this keyboard with RGB backlighting and an Aluminium frame. I had it fitted with Gateron G Pro Brown switches. I ordered a 35 pack of Gateron G Pro Green switches and swapped out a majority of the browns with greens instead. I noticed the brown switches were slightly easier to press down compared to Cherry MX browns which I had predicted so I bought the greens. I was doubtful of the keycaps and the material it was made out admittedly but I'm happy to say that it's the highest quality keycaps I've ever seen and worked with. I wasn't aware of how the bluetooth feature worked fully so I was super excited to see I could connect to even my Iphone. I paid $14 AUD for shipping and it came within 3 days, I'm super happy with those results. I'm going to enjoy learning more about using this keyboard.
My only criticism is that now after typing with it for a week I now hate typing with anything else because it's so good with the green switches. To whoever is reading this, have an amazing day/night :D
