very nice looking and comfortable touch for typing

I ordered optical RGB backlit aluminium banana switch with palm rest and optional OEM keycaps altogether to save shipping cost.
Looks very nice with oldies goodies Mac atmosphere and typing experience with banana switch is awesome.
Bit heavy (about 700g) to carry this one everywhere, bluetooth sometimes fails in case not typing more than half an hour, no arrow keys,
but this one is a good choice for user like me not required fast typing.

Love the keybaord

This is my second mechanical keyboard. My first was an inexpensive red switch keyboard that I do enjoy however I wanted to try other switch types. My K12 RGB backlit Aluminum keyboard was ordered with the Keychron optical blue switches and I also ordered a set of the Bananna switches to try the Panda type tactile switch.

I'm also in the middle of building a dactyl manuform keyboard using Gateron Brown switches but when I saw this keyboard I couldn't resist. I'm a Linux Administrator and do a lot of typing. All of the other Linux Admin's already were using mechanical keyboards and were the ones that got me interested.

I type about 140WPM and the action on the Keychron Optical Blue switches is absolutely amazing, love typing with it but I'm still getting used to the 60% size and the use of the arrow keys but this isn't a big deal and with the size of the keyboard I can easily take it with me from home to the office.

Haven't tried the Bananna switches yet nor have I tried the Blu-Tooth as our security team at work frowns on us using wireless keyboards, with BT 5.1 they would be ok with it however our work machines only have 4.2 and the security on that is not what they would prefer for wireless communication.

Overall I'm really enjoying typing on the new K12, I did have the manager of the networking team (his cube is beside mine seperated by a wall) ask about the new keyboard as he could hear me typing on it. I showed it to him and he seemed impressed, didn't think to ask if it was bothering him, will probably do so today and if so it will give me a reason to try the Bananna switches.

Excellent product and value, custom specs hit and miss

I’ve just received my K12 Kickstarter bundle. This is the third Keychron I’ve ordered as well as referring people here. I got two sets of spare keycaps, but not the black ones like in the photo as specifically requested. It would be great if those could have been provided instead of the spare grey caps that are already on the board. The switches feel great.

Very good little keyboard

I usually use a JIS keyboard, but it wasn't too difficult to get used to this keyboard.
This is the smallest keyboard in the keychron line-up, at 60%, and even the arrow keys are omitted. It's also a US keyboard, which may be a little difficult to use for those who normally use a JIS keyboard, but once you get used to it, it wasn't a problem.
I bought the model with RGB backlight, Gateron red axis hot swap and plastic frame. The price was 120$ including the shipping to Japan.

The feel of the keys is very good, and the matte finish on the keycaps gives it a luxurious feel. I was worried about the Gateron because it is a Chinese CherryMX compatible keyboard, but it has a very smooth feel and the performance is not inferior to the Gateron. I used the US layout for the first time and got used to it very quickly, the layout of the symbols is more natural than the JIS layout so some people may find it easier to use. However, it was a little difficult to understand how to switch between the two types of input.
However, there are no unnecessary keys, so I feel that typing mistakes have been reduced.
I am very pleased with the quality of the product and the fact that it arrived in good condition.
